Self-playing guitars

The Self-playing Guitars is a platform for exploring the meeting point between acoustic and digital sound production in a collection of self-playing instruments.

There are 6 self-playing guitars?at RITMO, and these have been used in several installations and performances. Each guitar should be equipped with the following components:

  • An Interactive Circuit Board, which contains:
    • Electret microphone
    • ADXL33y accelerometer
    • IR proximity camera
    • RGB LED
  • A Bela, with an SD card
  • A power bank
  • An actuator
  • Cables between the different components
